COACHING AND RUNNING BIOGRAPHY

Head NCHS cross country coach Larry C. Weber is a former nationally ranked USA miler and all time record holder of The Original Ultimate Runner Competition—a 10k, 400 meters, 100 meters, mile, and a marathon all run on the same day.  Larry scored higher than ultra marathon national record holders, national road racing champions, Olympic runners at 1500 and 5000 meters, and many other runners in setting the all time record in “The Ultimate Runner Competition”.

Coach Weber has coached runners of all ages and ability levels from beginning to world class for over 30 years. He has coached youth age group champions, state high school champions, state and national championship high school cross country teams, U.S. Olympic Trials athletes, masters runners, a Paralympic sprint world record holder, and a runner who broke American Master's track and field records. Coach Weber's goal is to help runners of all ability levels to break through their perceived limitations and run to their God given potential. His focus is to help runners on and off the race course physically, mentally, and spiritually. Coach Weber sees his role as more of a life coach than a running coach.

Coach Weber was named as a Washington State High School Cross Country coach of the year in 2011, 2012, and 2015 by the Washington State High School Cross Country Coaches Association. He was also named as the Division 2 National Coach of the year for the girls in 2014 and for the boys in 2014, 2015, and 2016. His teams won national cross country championships in 2014 (boys and girls), 2015 and 2016. Coach Weber has served as the head coach of 8 Washington State High School State Championship cross country teams in the last 7 years. In addition, he has coached 3 individual state cross champions during the last 7 years. Moreover, Coach Weber is an American Sport and Fitness Association (ASFA) certified running fitness instructor. He has also taken several USA Level 3 Track and Field courses and other ongoing professional development training in middle and long distance coaching.

Assistant cross country Coach Mike Michael ran for the University of Washington Huskies specializing in the 1500 meters. He ran in the PAC 10 championships and other major collegiate championship races. Coach Michael has coached several high school
individual state champions and has helped countless runners reach their all time personal best times. Coach Michael is well versed in the relay events having coached state championship relay teams. In addition, Coach Michael served as the head coach of the first ever NCHS boy's state championship track and field team in 2011. Moreover, Coach Michael has served as the assistant cross country coach on six state championship cross country teams to Coach Weber.
